Help Your Community
There are many ways to serve your community in Arkansas. Studies show that engaging in a volunteer activity connects you with others while also altering brain chemistry, releasing dopamine, oxytocin, and serotonin. Youn know, those feel-good hormones responsible for boosting moods!
The Engage Arkansas Volunteer Portal is a great way to find statewide opportunties and manage your personal volunteer hours through the self-report tools available. Check out our self-report user guide. In 2023, Engage Arkansas initated the first statewide Civic Challenge to help Arkansans focus on volunteering goals each month. Following the Civic Challenge completion at the end of 2023, particpants will submit their volunteer hours to be entered into a grand prize. Learn more and get registered to join the challenge today!
If you are a nonprofit, school, faith-based, government, or civic organization that would like to partner with us to recruit and manage volunteers or to participate in the Civic Challenge, take steps to learn more about a partnership with Engage Arkansas.
Engage Arkansas is not responsible for screening or conducting background checks of volunteers. When you connect with a volunteer through the portal, we recommend completing your organization's screening process before allowing a volunteer to serve with your organization.
Emergency Management
To get involved with immediate disaster recovery needs following the March 31 tornadoes in Central AR, please visit our Emergency Management page to connect with local opportunities in each city. Logging your volunteer time during nationally declared disasters is important, as it will have impacts on the funding our state recieves from FEMA. There is an immediate need for Disaster Response Mental Health Therapists if you or someone you know is qualified for these positions.
